My stories have been written specially for children, and they reflect my love for Costa Rica, and a way of life unfamiliar to most American children. In my stories, I engage my own memories and experiences. In Costa Rica, where I was born and raised, I was surrounded by nature, animals, and very special people. The collective beauty of those surroundings influences and inspires me everyday.

Writing has always been an important part of my life. I believe that through literature, people are able to express their deepest feelings and thoughts. This small collection of short stories, presented in both Spanish and English, is an attempt to share my childhood experiences with American children. Soemtimes, English cannot fully express the poetic feeling of the Spanish language, so I encourage the reader to read the Spanish version aloud to the children.
